Welcome to Prime Schimmel
Mould develops when mould spores come into contact with a damp surface upon which they can grow. There are three primary factors: 1. Moisture: mould requires a constant source of moisture, e.g., condensation, leakages, high humidity, or inadequate ventilation. 2. Nutrients: mould can grow on many surfaces, including wallpaper, wood, plaster and textiles because these materials contain organic matter. 3. Temperature: mould thrives at temperatures between 10 and 30°C, i.e., in most indoor spaces. Poorly ventilated rooms such as bathrooms, kitchens and basements are particularly at risk. Thermal bridges which occur on walls can also lead to condensation and thus promote mould growth.
